About us

Find out more about how White Pointer Boats got to where we are today.

30 years ago White Pointer boats was founded by a visionary boat builder named Rex Briant. Rex had a deep love for the ocean and a burning desire to create boats that could conquer the challenging waters of New Zealand's coastline while providing an unparalleled experience for its occupants. He believed that the perfect vessel could not only withstand the fiercest waves but also offer unmatched comfort and safety to those on board.

Driven by this vision, Rex, along with his team of skilled craftsmen, set out to design and build a boat that would set a new standard in the industry. They were determined to create a vessel that would seamlessly blend power, performance, and aesthetics.

After countless hours of research, design, and rigorous testing, their dream took shape. In the mid 1990s, the first White Pointer boat was born. It was a boat that combined cutting-edge hull design, superior materials, and meticulous craftsmanship. This boat proved to be a game-changer, catching the attention of serious anglers and adventure seekers alike.

Word quickly spread about the White Pointer's exceptional capabilities. Anglers discovered that it could handle the roughest seas, making it an ideal choice for pursuing trophy catches in New Zealand's challenging marine environment. Families realized that it offered a level of safety, comfort, and versatility that was previously unheard of in the world of boating.

As the years went by, White Pointer boats continued to evolve and grow in popularity. The brand became synonymous with reliability, innovation, and uncompromising quality. The company expanded its range to include various sizes and configurations, catering to a wide spectrum of marine enthusiasts.

Today, White Pointer boats are not just vessels; they are a testament to the enduring spirit of those who dared to dream and create something extraordinary. From their humble beginnings over 30 years ago, they have sailed into the hearts of adventurers, anglers, and families worldwide.

The legacy of White Pointer boats is not just about the vessels themselves; it's about the passion, craftsmanship, and dedication that has gone into their creation. It's a story of how a group of individuals, united by their passion for the ocean, reshaped the boating industry, one hull at a time.

And as long as there are oceans to explore and adventures to be had, the story of White Pointer boats will continue to unfold on the open waters, leaving a wake of excellence and innovation in its path.

Lloyds Certification

From humble beginnings, the inception of White Pointer was to design and build commercial vessels for our local port. We quickly caught the eye of serious offshore fishermen, and we adapted our craft to a recreational style. This theme never stopped, and to this day, 30 years on, we still build these vessels to a commercial grade that aligns with Lloyd's SSC (Special Service Craft). Not only do they align, but we also continue to build commercial craft to this globally recognized standard, and the recreational boats we build benefit from this superior quality.

CUSTOM TAILORED

With our complex mono hull form and prestressed assembly process our hulls produce a soft, predictable non-pounding ride & incredible sea keeping performance. Our Trademark exclusively branded hull shapes are truly Unique and are well proven.

SUPERIOR RIDE

White Pointer’s non-pounding ride comes from more than just a deep-V — it’s the compound curve we shape into the hull during construction that sets us apart, meaning you will not find a flat spot on the hull to trap and slap water. This carefully formed curve softens impact, adds lift, and allows the hull to drive through the waves and chop with no slapping or banging especially on landing coming off the tops of waves, delivering our signature soft performing ride.
